The Peruvian Lawyers Association
PLAWASH Inc. traces its roots back to the year 2000, when a group of Peruvian attorneys residing in the Washington, D.C. area began meeting with the purpose of creating a space for professional support, knowledge exchange, and community service. From its early beginnings, PLAWASH promoted unity, professional identity, and active participation in community issues affecting the Hispanic community.
During its initial years, the association carried out educational and community-based legal information activities, laying the foundation for what would later become an organization firmly committed to education, ethics, and service.
Over time, PLAWASH evolved and expanded its institutional vision, bringing together professionals from diverse legal and related disciplines and consolidating its presence in Virginia, Maryland, and the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. In this new stage, the association strengthened its organizational structure, modernized its processes, and expanded its academic and community-based programs, while remaining faithful to its central mission: to serve, educate, and empower the Peruvian and Hispanic community in the United States.
Today, PLAWASH is projected as a solid, modern, and innovative institution with a vision of growth that extends beyond a purely binational scope. The association seeks to strengthen its presence not only between Peru and the United States, but also within the global Peruvian professional community, promoting international collaboration, academic exchange, and the development of global initiatives.
The history of PLAWASH reflects a trajectory of perseverance, leadership, and continuous renewal, expanding with each new generation of Peruvian professionals committed to knowledge, service, and social impact.
